I started working with Robyn in January 2022 after an elbow surgery. My goals were to safely build strength while challenging myself to become more effective and motivated with my workouts. It was clear right away that Robyn understood how to work through injuries, old and new, as she programmed workouts to accommodate my elbow injury as well as some back pain I was struggling with. I’m convinced that with her knowledge I was able to overcome both quickly. Robyn’s workouts challenged and surprised me with the weight I was able to work with. The workouts are also accessible enough to do on my own at the gym in between sessions. Robyn is the type of trainer who is going to listen to you and work with where you’re at but also push you to try things you might not think you can do (like deadlifting 90 lbs instead of 20!). She’s a stickler for form which I love, and made me feel like I could advance safely and also workout more effectively on my own. She’s not a drill sergeant who’s going to holler annoyingly at you to get in more reps! She’s calm, friendly and patient and I think her training style and approach is welcoming to anyone. I’d highly recommend Robyn to anyone looking to work with a personal trainer.

Before I began working with Robyn in April of 2022, I was feeling depressed, unmotivated and uncomfortable in my own body. I decided I wanted a change but had no idea how to realistically (and safely) go about it on my own. Fortunately, I met Robyn. I am naturally shy but, from the very start, I was comfortable talking with Robyn about my health concerns. She actively listens, is extremely knowledgeable and very patient. I have been working with Robyn for a little over a year and in that time my strength, mobility and endurance have all improved greatly. Robyn was able to help me achieve this and at the same time create routines that helped reduce the pain from previous injuries. I have worked with other personal trainers before and none of them took the time and effort to create an individual program like Robyn has for me. Personal training for me at first was a way to ensure that I get scheduled exercise at least three times a week because I hate to miss an appointment. I do not have to think about what exercises I am going to do, how many sets, or even how many reps. While training with Robyn does achieve those things, it does a whole lot more than just hitting the gym three times a week. With a good trainer, she has been able to make sure I am making improvements towards my goals all while preventing me from injuring myself.

I changed personal trainers a year ago and started training with Robyn three times a week. What a great decision! Robyn is a strong and knowledgeable fitness trainer, and a genuine, patient, and respectful person with great attention to detail. She has a personal, professional, and flexible approach that meets my training needs, and can be modified to accommodate any soreness or injury I may have. Over the past year, with Robyn’s personal approach, I have gained strength and energy, improved in flexibility, and balance, and can now move my previously problematic shoulder painlessly. The workout programs she creates are interesting, challenging, diverse, and fun, and the exercises in each program are varied and well balanced. At the end of each six-week plan, she always asks if I want to keep a “favourite one” for the next six weeks. In my case, I always ask to keep doing push-ups because it took so much work to get them right. She pushes me to improve, and she ensures the exercises increase in difficulty as I get stronger. Robyn monitors, analyses, and provides continuous advice during exercises to ensure the technique is correct to avoid injury. After each session, I feel exhilarated. Going to the gym to work out with Robyn is always a highlight of my day. I strongly recommend Robyn for her personal approach, her professionalism, and her passion. You will love training with her.

I came to Robyn over a year ago with very specific concerns and requests relating to my recent Parkinson’s Disease diagnosis. My hope was to improve posture, strength and balance. It is important to me to train with someone who has a truly genuine interest in my wellbeing, which Robyn has demonstrated by researching information relevant to my situation, and I am impressed with her strong commitment to continuing education. After a very thorough assessment Robyn has provided me with a highly individualized program that is challenging, balanced, and progressive, and keeps me motivated and engaged. She changes components frequently enough to keep it interesting. At the age of 65 I did not know how much improvement I could reasonably expect, but the results have been truly amazing in all areas. I have gained overall strength, much better balance, improved posture and confidence. In the wake of my recent diagnosis, Robyn has been very supportive, understanding and helpful with pertinent information. She fine tunes the training when and where needed to accommodate my changing abilities, and I feel secure and confident that with the help of Robyn’s expertise I will be in the best possible shape to meet future challenges. I was referred to Robyn by my sister who spoke highly of Robyn’s training programs and the results she was seeing. Robyn is passionate and knowledgeable about people’s physical health and overall wellness, especially women. Unfortunately, a few weeks into my training, I suffered a work related injury to my rotator cuff. I thought this injury would put me out of the gym for a while. To my surprise, after discussing my concerns with Robyn, she was able to curate the exercises so it wouldn’t cause pain to my shoulder or exacerbate my injury. More importantly, she offered advice on at home stretches and breathing techniques that helped my healing process. Robyn is a true professional who is committed to designing user-friendly and effective programs. I signed up with Robyn because I was in a serious mental and physical rut. As a typically fit individual, I’ve worked with a couple of trainers over the years so the bar was set pretty high for Robyn. When I got my first program, I was immediately impressed with the program design and was super excited to start training. I can honestly say that Robyn’s programs are my FAVOURITE and that I have had the highest levels of commitment to her program. I look forward to my daily workout. I always feel that I’ve worked out hard, but I never feel like I’ve overtrained a muscle group. Her programs are very well-balanced and provide appropriate recovery time for muscle groups. Robyn has been a miracle in my life. She has been working with me virtually for about 2 years now; when we started, I couldn’t even do a normal body-weight squat. I started from having bad knees and pain even when just walking down stairs, and have now progressed all the way to being able to squat my own body weight on a barbell! She has always been ready to meet me where I’m at. If I’m having a bad day, she’s happy to do a lighter workout. If I’m having a great day, she’s there to cheer me on and celebrate. When I’m feeling discouraged and feel like I’m not making progress, she’s always quick to remind me where I started and how far I’ve come. I could not have done this without her. I highly recommend Robyn for people of any level; her versatility and creativity is outstanding. She was able to work with my physiotherapist’s recommendations, and is knowledgeable about working with injuries and recovery. She creatively uses the equipment I have in my home gym and has been amazing at giving advice on what to buy if and when there’s room in my budget to expand. She is creative with accommodating my workouts when I travel for work (which is VERY often), and is able to be flexible with scheduling when I need. I genuinely look forward to our video call sessions. I can’t recommend Robyn enough. She is a game-changer!
