About RIFT Kinesiology and Fitness
Our philosophy
Client education and empowerment is crucial to the treatment process at RIFT Kinesiology and Fitness, which is unfortunately overlooked in many fitness and rehabilitation programs and is often one of the reasons their results can be temporary. Through a comprehensive assessment provided by a Professional Kinesiologist, we develop a deeper understanding of each client as a whole person to better support them in achieving their individual goals.
During your training or treatment with RIFT Kinesiology and Fitness, you will gain an understanding of how your body’s systems function together to create movement, what your program includes and why, as well as how to correctly perform each exercise, and how to use corrective exercise, strength training, breathwork, and mobility drills to address any limitations or compensations that influence the way your body moves and feels.
Our Approach
RIFT Kinesiology and Fitness uses evidence-based movement research and incorporates concepts from biomechanics, anatomy, physiology, psychology, and neuroscience to create a thorough and effective treatment plan. Your programming may include corrective exercise instruction, strength training, breath and mobility work, and functional conditioning.
Our body-neutral, weight-inclusive, and size-inclusive approach is in alignment with the Health at Every Size® (HAES) Principles focused on health-enhancing behaviours, enjoyable movement, and improving functionality and movement competency.
With RIFT Kinesiology and Fitness, you will be encouraged to take an active role in your treatment and training program to ensure that you understand what your program includes and why, as well as how to correctly perform each exercise. Through collaboration and ongoing dialogue, you will be able to overcome any obstacles you encounter in your health and fitness journey and optimize the results that matter to you.

ABOUT ROBYN
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Robyn has been working in the fitness industry for the better part of the past decade. She has a wide breadth of experience as a group fitness instructor, physiotherapy assistant, personal trainer, and Kinesiologist. While pursuing her degree at the University of Alberta, Robyn gained expertise in the use of exercise in the enhancement of the mental and physical health of people of all ages, management of chronic conditions, rehabilitation of injuries, and preparation of people for physically demanding occupations.
Through her involvement in academic, recreational, and clinical settings in the industry, Robyn noticed a disconnect between the theoretical and practical applications of exercise as a tool for fitness and rehabilitation. After facing many challenges while dealing with her own chronic issues, Robyn became passionate about finding a way to help others who were similarly struggling to achieve results within the traditional fitness and rehabilitation systems.
